In the year 1787. on this area, Vuk Karadžić was born. Reformer of the Serbian language, Vuk was one of the first cultural diplomats in this age. Vuk Karadžić has set structure of modern Serbia through basic work on institutions of culture and education, reformer of language, first book publisher, author of valuable anthologies in folk art and first Serbian dictionary.
